Entrepreneurial Journal: Week 1 Reflection
This week’s readings and videos helped me understand the importance of keeping a journal when learning about entrepreneurship. In Your Entrepreneur’s Journal by Jeff Sandefer, he talks about how reflecting on what we know and experience daily can help us become better entrepreneurs. It made me realize that journaling isn’t just for writing down random thoughts; it’s also a way to think about what we’ve done, what we’ve learned, and what we can improve on. I’m excited to start using a journal to track my progress and growth.
One of the main ideas I learned from the readings was the importance of self-reflection. Sandefer explains that successful entrepreneurs always ask themselves questions like “What worked today?” and “What didn’t?” By doing this, they can learn from their mistakes and keep improving. I liked this idea because it reminded me that failures are just part of the journey, and we can learn from them instead of getting discouraged.
The videos this week also reminded me how important it is to do what you love. Working somewhere that pays well is not enough. We must get joy out of what we do to truly feel fulfilled from a job or career. The video taught me this importance and it is something I will look into before finalizing on a career.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to learn more about how to create effective business strategies. I want to understand how entrepreneurs decide what products to create, how to reach customers, and how to stay ahead of competitors. I also want to learn more about market forces and how businesses adapt when things change in the economy.
This week has been a great start to learning about entrepreneurship, and I can’t wait to keep reflecting on my progress and learning new things in the next few weeks.
